Imagine you’d be given one car for your whole life! How would you take care of it? My grandfather did… his only car was as good as new as was his young body that most thoughts were 50 when he was 76. In today’s world, when you can lease your car every 3 years (who cares about its fuel grade or the breaks and tire changes… we abuse it till it can’t function) even partners are being exchanged the moment disagreements arise… but this attitude towards our mind and body is unsustainable. You only get one body!!! Of course, you can replace a knee, a hip, your heart, and cut outgrowths, but why?!?! Respect what God has given you -wash it, use infection control techniques, respect the bodies and the space of others and you will be surprised how much more fun it will be to live in your body! Do you enjoy driving a beat-up, old rusty car whose muffler scrapes the floor and sparks shoot past as it chugs along? Well, why do it to your body?! And now that the virus has come along… don’t cry to me, “I was born that way!” Most can overcome their debilitations- swimming, taking allergy medications, increasing lung capacity! Look at our hero veterans how they overcome unexpected disabilities! They keep up their exercise routine even if without legs! Take responsibility- it’s in your own interest to keep your body healthy! Don’t put smoke or low-level fuel into your body and car ( by the way at least the fuel is cheaper).
What’s the excuse of spending money to milk-dry and destroy your body, not to speak of those around you that you love?!
